Summary
The Designated Selling Associate is a fashion-focused salesperson who builds relationships with customers to drive sales for the brand through one-on-one and appointment-based selling. This role requires strong product knowledge, merchandising, and use of digital selling tools to meet sales goals while maintaining the department and delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Set and achieve sales goals for in-store and digital selling using tools such as text and social media
- Build and maintain lasting relationships with customers and grow Nordstrom Rewards accounts
- Provide personalized style and fit advice and educate customers on brand products
- Conduct product knowledge meetings and share feedback with the department manager
- Support merchandising tasks including stocking, re-merchandising, displays, markdowns, transfers and cleaning
- Drive predictable business through appointment-based selling during events and non-event periods
- Be flexible to perform duties in other departments or brands as needed

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to cultivate customer relationships
- Ability to work in a competitive team environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Flexible schedule to meet business needs, including varied hours
- Ability to read sales reporting and use data to meet goals
- Strong product and fashion knowledge and ability to educate customers
- Confidence presenting items across high and low price points and demonstrating value
- Physical ability to stand and move for 6-8 hours and lift up to 25 pounds
