Summary
The Facilities Technician 2 executes preventative maintenance and performs troubleshooting and repairs on building systems and material handling equipment. The role supports operations by designing maintenance solutions, leading preventative maintenance procedures, and assisting with technician training and maintenance projects. The position requires safe operation of equipment and accurate work order documentation.
Responsibilities
- Execute preventative maintenance programs for building and material handling systems
- Troubleshoot and repair conveyors and material handling equipment
- Diagnose electrical and electronic control systems using test equipment
- Maintain and troubleshoot relay logic ladder diagrams and control components
- Operate forklifts scissor and boom lifts and hand tools safely
- Use a work order system to create and close out work orders with labor and parts data
- Lead preventative maintenance procedures and assist in training service technicians
- Collaborate across departments to support facility operations
- Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 49lbs and standing for long shifts
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience with conveyors electrical systems and building maintenance
- Advanced knowledge of operation and repair of material handling equipment
- Advanced knowledge of power pneumatic or hydraulic tools
- Basic knowledge of control systems and PLCs preferred
- Robotics knowledge preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and elevated work platforms
- Capability to perform physical work for shifts up to 12 hours
