Summary
The General Manager leads store operations to drive sales and profitability while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role focuses on talent development, executing company initiatives, and maintaining brand standards in a high-volume retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Own sales and profit performance to meet sales and margin goals
- Plan and execute strategic company initiatives for the store
- Create and maintain a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations
- Develop and implement a client development and community outreach strategy
- Set talent strategy including sourcing, recruiting and retaining high performing staff
- Provide training, coaching and continuous feedback to build team capabilities
- Manage inventory, shrink and productivity standards through process management
- Promote use of sales technologies and new selling techniques
- Ensure sales floor and store standards consistently exceed expectations
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent a plus
- Retail management or similar industry experience in a complex high volume specialty environment preferred
- Proven track record building and maintaining positive customer and team relationships
- Strong business acumen with planning and prioritization skills
- Ability to operate register, stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days evenings weekends and possible travel
- Effective communication skills with customers and store personnel
