Manager Store Merchandise

Summary

The Merchandise Manager is responsible for overseeing back of house operations and front of house visual standards to ensure timely processing and presentation of merchandise, maintain inventory accuracy, and support store profitability. This role leads the merchandise operations team, enforces store audit standards, drives execution of markdowns and transfers, and supports a high level of customer service. The manager hires, trains, and develops associates and collaborates with store leadership to solve operational and flow challenges.

Responsibilities

• Oversee processing of inbound merchandise to ensure it reaches the selling floor within company time frames
• Maintain inventory accuracy through oversight of exception reports and compliance with audit standards
• Manage outbound transfers and returns to vendors and execute markdowns and price changes
• Hire train and develop the Merchandise Operations team and set goals aligned with department objectives
• Ensure execution of re-ticketing sends repairs sell off consolidation and order supplies
• Lead communication and direction to resolve store flow and operational challenges
• Foster an environment of accountability through coaching and performance management

Requirements

• 3-5 years supervisory experience in a retail merchandising or visual capacity
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and retail technology
• Ability to lift 25 - 50 lbs and maneuver rolling equipment and climb safety ladders
• Available to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
• Strong leadership communication and problem solving skills
