Summary
The Human Resources Manager is based in New York City and provides strategic and operational HR support to the regional HQ and retail locations across North America. This role partners with retail leadership to drive employee engagement, talent development, performance management, and compliance. The manager oversees employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, training, HR analytics, and payroll/benefits inquiries to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic HR business partner to retail and regional leadership, aligning HR practices with business goals.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for key retail roles, develop job descriptions, source candidates, and manage interviews and onboarding.
- Provide employee relations support, conduct investigations, and advise on disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Drive talent development initiatives, deliver training sessions, and support performance management and promotion processes.
- Use HR data and analytics to inform workforce planning, turnover analysis, and retention strategies.
- Partner with global and regional HR teams on policy implementation, compliance, compensation reviews, and HR programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in retail or luxury environments.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. labor laws; familiarity with Canada and Mexico labor laws a plus.
- Proven ability to build trust with senior leaders and provide coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution.
- Experience with HRIS platforms (Dayforce or Workday preferred) and comfort with HR analytics.
- Excellent communication, project management skills, and ability to travel up to 20% as needed.
