Summary
The Operations Manager will oversee all back-of-house and operational functions for the upcoming Manhasset boutique, ensuring efficient inventory control, shipping and receiving, facility maintenance, and vendor management. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role partners with the retail leadership and selling teams to maintain compliance with company policies, support after-sales service, and uphold store standards while managing related budgets and schedules.
Responsibilities
- Manage shipping and receiving, transfers, RTVs, damages, and timely movement of merchandise.
- Oversee inventory control, cycle counts, reconciliations, and stock adjustments.
- Supervise operational staff including Inventory Control, SSA, after-sales positions, tailors, maintenance, and external guards.
- Own operational budgets for supplies, maintenance, guard service and related vendor contracts; identify cost efficiencies.
- Liaise with corporate construction, maintenance, IT contacts and outside vendors to resolve facility and system issues.
- Manage scheduling, time and attendance (E-time), vacation records, and training for operational teams.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness including evacuation drills and after-sales supply orders; oversee staff sales compliance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of retail management experience in a similar role; luxury retail experience preferred.
- Proven shipping and receiving and inventory control experience.
- Strong computer skills including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint; POS and phone systems knowledge.
- Extensive building maintenance knowledge and vendor management experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, ability to multi-task and work under pressure, and collaborative management style.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
