Outside Upholstery Associate

Summary

Perform exterior upholstery for furniture frames by applying padding, fabric, or leather to meet product specifications and quality standards. Transport frames to workstations, use hand tools and equipment, and correct defects prior to moving pieces along the production process. Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to mechanical parts and materials.

Responsibilities

• Transport frames to workstation and place onto work table, lift or bucks
• Apply appropriate padding or materials to frames using staple gun, glue or other methods
• Apply fabric and/or leather to frames to meet high quality specifications and style requirements
• Use hand tools such as staple gun, mallets, clinchers and similar tools
• Correct mistakes on pieces before moving to the next work area
• Apply webbing, springs or trim and inspect or label product as required
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality in production schedule

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a similar field
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Detail oriented to uphold brand integrity
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds regularly
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and perform physical tasks
