Summary
The Planner, Inventory Planning supports global finished goods inventory planning for assigned categories, executing activities across new product readiness, purchasing support, allocation, reporting, and cross-functional communication. The role is accountable for accurate analysis, timely execution, and escalation to ensure product is placed in the right Zone at the right time while maintaining inventory productivity. The Planner partners with supply, merchandising, distribution, and regional teams to manage inventory flow and launch readiness.
Responsibilities
- Maintain planning inputs including sales forecasts, inventory policies, receipt assumptions, open orders, and availability risks.
- Support target inventory recommendations at global and zonal levels using planning rules and productivity objectives.
- Create and maintain purchase order recommendations and track receipt timing, escalating delays or data gaps.
- Project inventory landing over a rolling 12-18 month horizon and prepare allocation recommendations to Zones.
- Monitor Zone inventory positions, exceptions, and service risks and summarize proposed actions for manager review.
- Partner with regional supply chain, distribution, and logistics teams to resolve operational allocation questions and support inventory flow.
- Support new product launches by tracking readiness, launch allocation, availability, and early sell-through.
- Create recurring reporting and ad hoc analysis, validate data quality, and contribute to process and tool improvements.
Requirements
- 0-3 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, supply planning, or a closely related analytical role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and planning tools.
- College degree and/or equivalent business experience.
- Curiosity for data quality, process improvement, and documentation of planning standards.
- Preferred: experience in multi-category or multi-channel retail and familiarity with Anaplan or other planning/reporting tools.
