Summary
The Asset Protection Agent is responsible for protecting people, protecting physical spaces, and supporting product accuracy by mitigating shrinkage risks, preventing and investigating theft, and ensuring safety and security within the store and surrounding area.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft through quality apprehensions while adhering to policy and leadership guidance
- Identify theft trends using technology, reporting, and surveillance
- Drive shrinkage reduction through action plans and merchandise protection standards
- Support and escalate internal theft investigations and gather evidence
- Use video systems and RFID data to monitor activity and support investigations
- Maintain safety by responding to and reporting security and emergency incidents
- Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness efforts and training
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training
- Prepare incident reports and testify in court when summoned
Requirements
- Ability to make and be accountable for decisions and use good judgment in fast paced environments
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Calm demeanor when dealing with aggressive individuals and safety issues
- Accountability, initiative, and high level of ownership
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Meet state and local licensing requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, and security procedures preferred
