Assistant Manager - Women's Designer Apparel - Tysons Corner

Summary

The Assistant Sales Department Manager supports the department manager in driving sales, coaching the team, and delivering exceptional customer experiences in women's designer apparel. This role focuses on recruiting, training, merchandising, inventory control, and actively selling on the floor to meet productivity and volume goals. The position operates in a commission-based retail environment and contributes to achieving shrinkage and presentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Recruit hire train develop and motivate department staff
• Assist the department manager in achieving department volume and productivity goals
• Develop and execute a business plan to meet sales targets
• Coach and lead salespeople to deliver outstanding customer service
• Actively sell on the sales floor to build customer relationships and loyalty
• Ensure merchandising and presentation standards are met
• Assist in accurate inventory management and achieve shrinkage goals
• Collaborate with department store managers and retail merchandisers

Requirements

• Track record of successful sales results including productivity and personal trade
• Competitive drive and confidence to succeed in a commission based environment
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals
• Experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with leadership
• Strong organizational and follow through skills
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
