Summary
The Assistant Store Manager leads the store team alongside the Store Manager to achieve sales and operational objectives, ensure customer service excellence, uphold visual merchandising standards, and support recruitment, training, and staff development. Acts as the senior store leader in the Store Manager's absence and partners with cross functional colleagues to meet business goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the store team to achieve sales goals and store KPIs
- Ensure exceptional customer experience and oversee clienteling and fitting room service
- Uphold visual merchandising and store standards across selling floor and back of house
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of staff
- Open and close the store and execute operational procedures including transfers and inventory
- Process merchandise movements and manage timekeeping in partnership with Store Manager
- Conduct store meetings and ensure staff adherence to wardrobe and brand standards
- Collaborate with Store Manager and regional leadership on local partnerships and market strategies
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years retail sales or related experience with at least 2 years supervisory responsibility
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Strong computer skills including MS Office and retail systems
- Proven ability to build and develop teams, coach staff, and drive results
- Excellent customer focus, conflict management, and decision making skills
- Knowledge of visual merchandising and inventory processes
- Local market knowledge and ability to cultivate client relationships
