Associate, Asset Protection

Summary

The Asset Protection Coordinator is responsible for detecting, deterring, and investigating customer and associate activity that could result in loss. The role promotes compliance with safety and inventory control policies, conducts surveillance and training, and supports audits and inventory reconciliation. This position reports to the AP Manager or Asset Protection Lead and partners with store management and local law enforcement as needed.

Responsibilities

• Promote and ensure operational compliance with safety and asset protection policies.
• Conduct surveillance and apprehension of external theft suspects and monitor for internal theft.
• Operate and monitor store security systems, including CCTV.
• Assist AP management with internal theft investigations and incident reporting.
• Monitor facility access to deter unauthorized removal of company assets.
• Complete audits of operational, safety, and inventory control procedures and related paperwork.
• Develop and execute shrink action plans and awareness programs with store teams.
• Maintain relationships with local law enforcement and represent the company in court when required.

Requirements

• Experience in a retail environment preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills (Windows, Excel).
• Working knowledge of CCTV monitoring systems preferred.
• Ability to work day or evening hours, including weekends and holidays, and to stand and walk the sales floor for 6-8 hours per shift.
• Ability to make quick, sound decisions in time-sensitive situations and preserve confidentiality.
• Must satisfy any required state or local licensing requirements.
