Summary
The Beauty Counter Manager leads sales and customer experiences for an assigned beauty brand at a department store counter, blending selling and teaching to drive results. This role focuses on personalized makeup applications, skincare consultations, digital and in-store selling, and maintaining a customer-ready counter environment. The manager works closely with vendor partners and the store team to execute events and promotions and to build customer loyalty.
Responsibilities
- Conduct makeup applications and skincare analyses to recommend products based on customer goals
- Set and achieve personal and counter sales goals using in-store and digital tools including text and social media
- Manage scheduling and execution of vendor events and promotions
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to maximize business results
- Handle sales transactions including refunds and exchanges and open new rewards accounts
- Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and inclusive customer environment
- Keep department organized, clean, and customer-ready
- Stay current on beauty trends and product knowledge through provided trainings
Requirements
- Passion for customer service and beauty including makeup application and skincare
- Excellent ability to connect with customers and proactively handle concerns
- Strong multitasking, organization, and follow-through skills
- Drive to achieve sales goals and use networking and technology for selling
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Physical ability for continuous movement and frequent bending and reaching
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative
