Summary
The Department Manager leads a department or floor to achieve sales and client experience targets, coaching and developing a team of client advisors, supporting store leadership with client development and succession planning, and ensuring operational standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coach the team to deliver business goals and a positive work environment
- Set individual and team goals and review performance regularly
- Provide real-time coaching and qualitative feedback to improve KPI performance
- Recruit and develop talent in collaboration with store leadership to secure succession plans
- Role model selling behaviors and support team sales activities
- Manage customer flow to ensure high levels of client service
- Develop and maintain the customer database and optimize data capture
- Drive sales for assigned category and grow product knowledge across the team
- Lead store operations in absence of senior management including opening and closing
Requirements
- Proven experience leading diverse teams in a similar retail environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to analyze performance
- Agility and creativity in solution development
- Passion and knowledge of the managed product category
- Client centric mindset with commitment to exceed expectations
- Willingness to work side by side with the team to lead and influence
- Deep interest in fashion, art and culture
