Role Summary:

As a Benefits Specialist, you will administer health and welfare employee benefit programs ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations. You will be responsible for the accuracy of benefit records. In your role, you will interact on a daily basis with employees, vendors, and other internal teams to resolve benefit issues with providers, employees and systems.

Role Description:

• Manage leave of absence process with our external leave administrator and disability provider.
• Respond to benefit inquiries from employees, internal teams, and People Business Partners.
• Ensure accuracy of data in the benefits module in Workday, inclusive of benefits enrollment support.
• Liaise with the Payroll team on issues and processes to ensure accurate benefits, 401(k), and leave of absence processing.
• Audit data to ensure accurate transmission of employee information to benefit vendors and providers.
• Partner with the Finance team (i.e. Accounts Payable and Accounting) for timely invoice processing as well as reconciliation of carrier claims and credits.
• Support during annual open enrollment and other ad hoc projects throughout the year.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 2-4 years of benefits experience
• Workday benefits experience highly preferred
• Strong understanding of how payroll coding and integrations operate
• Self-starter with robust analytical skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and G Suite products
• Ability to work independently and proactively problem-solve in a dynamic environment.
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to relay verbal and written information concisely and effectively
• Customer-centric mindset
• Open to change and new information. Able to adapt to a fluid environment. Encourages and fosters cooperation and teamwork.
• Strong knowledge of regulations related to benefit plans including Hipaa, Erisa, Aca.
