Job Description

Maesa is currently seeking a Director of Quality who will report to the VP, Regulatory & Quality. This position will be responsible for all Quality Assurance operations for Maesa New York-led projects and will be responsible for helping establish and implement the Quality strategy.


  • Direct and lead communication of quality problems and resolutions between contract manufacturers, packaging, sales, R&D, and other internal teams regarding out-of-specifications or poor quality. Actively pursue timeline response, determine root cause, and identify and implement preventative actions. Share “best practices” globally across Operations team.
  • Lead monthly quality meetings with cross-functional partners in coordination with Customer Service.
  • Manage and maintain Maesa Quality Audits, inspection and product release programs for incoming, in-process and finished good materials.
  • Manage and maintain Social and Ethical Compliance auditing per Maesa, Retailer, or Customer standards.
  • Lead non-conformance management process, along with customer complaint resolution.
  • Responsible for measuring Quality KPI’s and drive continuous quality improvements (systems, processes, and capabilities). Define and implement strategies and action plans to influence KPI results.
  • Serve as information manager in event of product recall.
  • Lead Quality team in review, approval, and validation of Fill and Assemblies.
  • Accountable for providing strategic direction, leading and coordinating activities involved in implementation of Quality activities.
  • Assist in the development and execution of quality training for the organization.
  • Responsible for performance and development of all Quality operations team, and mentor staff for ongoing personal and professional growth.
  • Work closely with leadership to develop a culture of quality and high performance throughout the organization.
  • Requires <50% travel.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in the sciences (or equivalent work experience).
  • 6 – 10 years cosmetic/pharmaceutical/food manufacturing experience, or a related industry.
  • Successful in managing and leading multiple functional areas within the Quality Assurance team.
  • Strong understanding of cGMP requirements in manufacturing.
  • Experience in developing and implementing Sop’s, Test Methods, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel, skills.
  • Able to handle multiple projects and exercise good judgment in prioritizing tasks.
  • High level of attention to detail
