Job Description

As Senior Coordinator, Studio Merchandise, you will be responsible for designing merchandise management plans to ensure deliverables are on time and on budget as part of our talented studio operations. You will ensure the smooth flow of goods as well as processes related to projects, special launches, sample management, items required for promotional activities, inventory levels, wardrobe and the quality of upkeep of items for the women’s, men’s and miscellaneous departments. Responsibilities

Merchandise management – ​​70%

  • Communicate with the distribution center to track the receipt and return of items between the studio and the warehouse and ensure the accuracy of inventory and location of items at all times
  • Receive project instructions from the studio’s production team and design merchandise management plans, including projects, special releases, and the management of samples and items required for promotional activities, while ensuring that timelines, launch dates and daily live goals are met in accordance with quality guidelines as well as performance targets
  • Monitor the status of deliverables required by the Commodity Management Plan, escalate issues to the appropriate people based on their severity, and assess risks by communicating their impact on production, prioritization and resource planning
  • Establish tools to facilitate follow-up in order to be transparent about daily e-commerce activities, to calculate inventory levels and performance indicators of inventory circulation, and to be accountable for this purpose
  • Develop reporting practices regarding studio merchandise receipt, including items for regular production, item launch marketing schedule, and sample tracking to forecast studio item receipt , to be able to offer useful information concerning the schedule and to identify risks
  • Establish effective communication of relevant updates between the receiving, purchasing, marketing and studio production teams for e-commerce
  • Oversee quality control and optimize studio item maintenance and handling processes in a timely manner to address gaps in quality of services offered by the merchandise team
  • Ensure that merchandise management plans consider studio storage capacity for e-commerce to maintain order and security in the preparation room; report any significant volume that does not meet this criteria to the appropriate people and then recommend an action plan to fix it

Training and development – ​​20%

  • Assist the assistant manager with tasks related to the integration of new recruits and provide training tools to the merchandise team
  • Participate in the creation and development of training manuals as well as the establishment of training procedures
  • Maintain and populate the knowledge base with standardized, concise and useful content

Continuous improvement – ​​10%

  • Identify opportunities to implement a program or procedure to optimize day-to-day activities and productivity (process, stock flow, communication or work methods)
  • Participate in visual and content production projects to optimize business performance through exemplary planning
  • Actively participate in the standardization of tools and procedures related to studio services

Qualifications

  • College or university degree in fashion marketing, business administration or a related field
  • Three to five years of coordination or logistics experience in an e-commerce or fashion industry
  • Knowledge of fabric and garment care principles an asset
  • Experience working with ready-to-wear items an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French, both oral and written
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems an asset
  • Understanding of warehouse operations an asset
  • Flexible hours; available evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Ability to walk 5 km per day with equipment or stand for extended periods as needed
